Furnas is a magical place by excellence, full of enchantments and pleasant surprises. On this tour you will be able to feel and experience the volcanic origins of the island of São Miguel. We will pick you up at 9 a.m. heading to Furnas village. Take the opportunity to observe the beautiful landscapes between the green of the mountains and the blue of the ocean. The entrance to Furnas is beautiful. Full of trees on one side and on the other a road covered with cobblestones. This is a complete day for those who have taken a holiday and want to relax. We start the morning with a visit to the Gorreana tea factory with a tasting of regional tea.

We continue our journey along the north coast of the island of São Miguel and stop at the viewpoint Pico do Ferro where you should take pictures for your photo album about your destination Azores! Next we descend to the parish of Furnas to the Furnas calderas to visit the famous fumaroles and taste the different gas-carbonated mineral waters from various springs.

After this incredible experience of tasting sour water we will head towards the beautiful Lagoa das Furnas, the famous place where the Furnas stew is made underground. By this time of the day it will be time to have lunch in the parish at a local restaurant to taste the famous and unique Furnas stew.

Then we will visit the romantic, luxuriant, century-old Parque Terra Nostra, a botanical garden famous for its extraordinary collection of plants from all over the world, including one of the largest collections of Camellias. At the Park get ready for a swim in the iron-rich hot water pools, where temperatures range from 35ºC - 40ºC. This is an exquisite and invigorating experience! This is a 360º tour over the island of São Miguel where our guide covers topics such as geology, botany, history and cultural heritage. The last stop will be in Vila Franca do Campo, where you will learn more about the first capital of the island and the earthquake of 1522.
